Our Farm

Landscape of Rhug Wild Beauty Grounds

Rhug is home to some of the most beautiful countryside in the world. Rhug Estate sits in an idyllic part of North Wales, the River Dee flows through its heart, with the spectacular backdrop of the Berwyn Mountains and, in the distance, Snowdonia National Park.

ORGANIC & SUSTAINABLE

The estate covers 12,500 acres of North Wales extending from Gwyddelwern in the North, Carrog to the East, Cynwyd to the South and Maerdy to the West, and is one of the biggest organic farms in the country.

It is an unspoilt landscape of mountains, organic clover-rich pastures, trees, hedgerows, rivers and lakes, where the air is fresh and the nurtured organic land supports an abundance of wildlife.

Rhug Wild Beauty Estate

WE HAVE CHAMPIONED THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF ORGANIC AND SUSTAINABLE FARMING FOR MANY YEARS, AND WE ARE NOW APPLYING THESE SAME PRINCIPLES TO OUR FACE AND BODY PRODUCTS.

WILD FORAGE

This spectacular landscape is home to some of the most wonderful organic and wild foraged ingredients, many of which we are now using in our skincare collection.

We carefully forage for ingredients on the estate in a sustainable and responsible way, waiting for particular plants to flower and mature.  Sometimes we need to find buds and at other times flowers or leaves. We wait for the optimum times to pick each different part of the plant by hand. Our expert foragers keep a watchful eye on plants in every corner of the estate to find the perfect time to harvest.

PROVENANCE

We have a great diversity of naturally occurring plants on the estate. Heather, meadowsweet, gorse, elderflower, dandelion, lemon balm, nettle leaf, hawthorn, yarrow and herb robert are just some of the ingredients sourced from the estate that are used in the creation of our unique skincare collection.

We also grow our own organic oats, produce our own honey and beeswax, and the water in our products comes from the spring on the estate.

IT IS OUR AMBITION AND OUR INTENTION TO INCREASE THE PROPORTION AND NUMBER OF INGREDIENTS THAT WE GROW ON, OR COLLECT FROM THE ESTATE, IN FUTURE PRODUCTS.
