Friend of the Brand Posie Staveley talks through her pregnancy skincare and wellness tips
Pregnancy is an extraordinary time which comes with many changes both physically and mentally. It is certainly a period which you cannot envision before it happens…nerve wracking, exhausting and completely wonderful all at the same time! I am lucky that my skin hasn’t taken a huge hit during my pregnancy however I do feel that, especially during the first trimester when I felt awful (!), I look distinctly more tired, pallid and I had certainly lost any ‘glow’ I might have once had! Thank goodness for Wild Beauty.
SKINCARE IN PREGNANCY: MY FAVOURITE WILD BEAUTY PRODUCTS
Pregnancy has made me think a lot more about what I put on my skin and therefore I have opted for completely organic products with natural formulations. Wild Beauty has provided me with the most perfect solution. I love it so much and really look forward to my twice-daily routine!
MY PREGNANCY SKINCARE ROUTINES
In the morning I wash my face with water and then apply the Active Treatment Serum with Hyaluronic Acid. I feel this really smooths and hydrates my skin first thing. After this I use the Protecting Day Cream with Blue Tansy Oil and always apply the Moisturising Lip Treatment with Rhug Beeswax and have it in my handbag throughout the day. Living in the countryside I feel I am exposed the elements a lot more (especially in winter!) so I like to feel my skin is protected.
In the evenings, I start with the Purifying Cleansing Lotion with Dandelion. I don’t wear much make up but this really cleanses my skin at the end of a long day. I then apply the Rebalancing Skin Tonic with Meadowsweet.. which I really feel brings my skin alive! It really feels fresh, clarifying and hydrates my skin leaving it bright and clear. Finally, I massage in the Restorative Overnight Cream with Evening Primrose followed by the Nourishing Eye Cream with Elderflower. I have noticed a big difference in my skin since starting this skincare routine, it looks less dull and I look less tired!

BODY SKINCARE IN PREGNANCY
With all the changes in pregnancy, nothing is greater than the actual physical changes and I am making sure I look after the skin on my body as much as my face. I have recently starting using the Exfoliating Body Scrub with Rosemary and Rhug Honey in the bath once a week. Not only does it smell amazing, it feels incredible, leaving my skin silky smooth and hydrated. I am all about the hydration and am keeping my bump in tip-top condition with the Rhug Nourishing Body Cream with Marshmallow Root and Lemon Balm, this also contains geranium oil which is recommended to aid sleep!
OTHER WELLBEING TIPS IN PREGNANCY

Water, water, water. It is said a lot but my goodness it helps! The more I drink the less tired I feel, and it certainly makes an impact on keeping my skin hydrated too. With a busy life I forget how much my body is doing sometimes and being in my third trimester I am really feeling it.
Rest. I am always on the go and as I work in the health and fitness world, I have had to calm things down a little. Rest really is key at this time, both for me and the baby so I try to get as much sleep as I can. I keep being told, make the most of it now!
Pilates is of course, an essential part of my life as an instructor, and I really can’t do without it. I have recently launched my online Pregnancy Pilates business (@posie_preggie_pilates) and have found that, through doing these exercises daily, I am able to stay supple, strong and active. It will also help me manage any pain in pregnancy which can cause extra stress. It takes just 10 minutes a day so anyone can fit this into their routine!
Walking in nature is also an absolute essential for me. I walk an hour a day, without my phone if I can and just absorb what is going on around me. It is so good for the soul.
