A Guide To Recycling Wild Beauty Product Containers And Packaging

At Rhug, we are passionate about leaving the planet a better place and we do our best to be as sustainable and eco-friendly as we can.  Everything we do is considered for its impact on the environment from our products, to our manufacturing and packaging.

As a result, our Wild Beauty packaging has gone through a rigorous process to ensure it is the best it can be. We thought you might find the below guide useful to help you recycle the bottles and packaging from our skincare and body care collection after you have enjoyed using them.

We have used glass containers for our products where possible, so that they can be easily recycled.  We have used 100% post-consumer recycled plastic for three body products as a safety precaution for our customers as you might leave these in the shower.  The main glass and plastic elements are fully recyclable. After removing the lids and any pumps, just wash them out and pop in the correct recycling bin. Better still, why not upcycle them? We have reused our frosted glass packing as jars for trinkets and even bud vases.

The lids and caps from all our products are fully recyclable, so they can go in your usual plastic recycling bin. Any droppers are also made of glass and can be recycled – you will find they pull away from the holder quite easily.  Most of the parts of our pumps are also recyclable if taken apart.  Fully recyclable pumps have recently hit the market and we shall be replacing our pumps as soon as we can.

In terms of our outer packaging boxes and our mail order boxes, they are made of recycled card. They can easily be flattened out and added to your usual paper collection.

We use organic wool from our sheep on the farm at Rhug to pack our Wild Beauty products for mail order – we know that lots of you like to re-use this to stuff cushions, toys and even seats!  One customer even used it under their Christmas tree as fake snow!  We love seeing how you re-use any of your Wild Beauty containers or packaging, so tag us using #wildwool and let us know!

In the future, we hope to be able to offer a refill service for our skincare products, so stay tuned for news. Also, if you have any ideas as to how we can make our packaging even better, please do get it touch!
