Wild Beauty Is Awarded The Coveted Positive Luxury Butterfly Mark

Since launch, we have been delighted by the positive response that Wild Beauty has had from press, retailers and consumers alike. We have been honoured to win several industry awards and humbled by your reviews and emails of support!

We wanted to share our most recent achievement with you all as Wild Beauty adds the Positive Luxury Butterfly Mark certification to our growing roster of sustainability credentials, and we couldn’t be prouder.

The prestigious Butterfly Mark certification is an independent, globally respected trust mark awarded to luxury brands, retailers and suppliers that meet the highest standards of verified ESG+ (Environmental, Social, Governance and Innovation) performance. It is rigorous, independent and is underpinned by the latest international standards, global legislation, and best practice principles. Being awarded this highly respected accreditation underlines just how hard Wild Beauty has strived towards sustainable sourcing of ingredients, 100% renewable energy and total commitment to the local communities through educational development and job opportunities. It demonstrates how Wild Beauty is a true modern representation of sustainable commitment.

Positive Luxury was founded in 2011 by Diana Verde Nieto and Karen Kanton, showcasing the sustainable efforts made within the luxury industry. This Butterfly Mark has become a global symbol of brands meeting the highest standard of sustainability, encouraging a new climate economy and rebranding of consumer trust.

In accessing our application for the certification, Positive Luxury looked at the following areas of Wild Beauty:

Wild Beauty’s Commitment to the environment

We pride ourselves on sourcing ingredients from the Estate that truly benefit the skin, patiently waiting for particular plants to bloom in order to gain the best results. Other ingredients found on the Estate and used in the products include organic oats, honey, and spring water. Other necessary ingredients are sustainably sourced from environmentally friendly producers, ensuring the security and traceability of all ingredients thus maintaining the integrity of the brand’s sustainable ethos.

Furthermore, all products are bottled and packaged in recyclable material (100% recycled cardboard boxes, printed with 100% vegetable ink), with most products being housed in glass bottles where possible and products safely packed in excess organic sheep’s wool for protection in the post.

Renewable energy on Rhug Estate

Rhug Estate, the home of Wild Beauty, has been producing its own energy across various hydro, geothermal, solar and wind turbine projects for the last 10 years and currently generates about 3,000MW of electricity per year. The water in on the estate is sourced from onsite boreholes.

Rhug Estate has invested in measuring and monitoring its carbon footprint so that it can make improvements. A bespoke climate action plan has been developed to mitigate and offset emissions across every sector of the business. Rhug Estate farm has reduced carbon emissions, enhanced carbon sequestration, resulting in carbon negative status. Increasing the length and height of hedgerows, the number of trees on the farm and soil organic carbon levels are examples of some of the methods of increasing carbon sequestration.

In 2022, Rhug Estate was one of the first-ever winners of a Net Zero Award by the North Wales & Mersey Dee (NWMD) Business Council (Medium/Large Business category.

Community Investment

At Wild Beauty we have a community involvement strategy that far outreaches our scale, with targeted investment across local education, employment creation and skill development, health, wealth and social investment. This focus is on giving back is cascaded down our supply chain as we encourage our partners to deliver on community development projects.
