What is Ellagic Acid?
Ellagic acid is a naturally occurring polyphenol which can be found in many berries, cherries, walnuts and pomegranates.

What does Ellagic Acid do?

It acts as an antioxidant, meaning that it can neutralize harmful compounds known as free radicals to protect your cells from damage and oxidative stress.

Why have we used Ellagic Acid in our new Protecting Facial Oil?

Our formulator chose to use Ellagic Acid, extracted from Organic Pomegrante oil, in our new facial oil for its superhero properties. It is not only a potent antioxidant but it can also brighten the complexion and reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation. The Pomegranate Oil we use is also rich in Vitamin C, which can help with skin regeneration and detoxification.

Skincare benefits of Ellagic Acid

Its antioxidant effects can help neutralise free radicals which in turn means the skin is better protected from external stresses such as pollution and UV radiation. Think of it as a superhero with a shield – the Ellagic Acid is the basis of the protecting shield. It is also known to inhibit the production of melatonin within the skin, which means skin looks brighter and pigmentation is reduced.
